Horizon Europe Association Agreement was signed by European Commission and Armenia on November 12, 2021 thanks to which now all Аrmenian research organizations can participate in nearly all Horizon Europe (HE) calls for proposals and act as coordinators.

Following the signature of the Association Agreement, the Scientific and Innovation Partnership Assistance Center (SIPAC) and National Academy of Sciences of RA, in cooperation with the Science Committee and European Commission, organized EU Horizon Europe & EURAXESS Armenia Portal Inauguration Event.

“This agreement brings us new opportunities, as Armenian participants from now on can be leading applicants in Horizon Europe projects. We hope that Armenian researchers will take this opportunity to create new international linkages and level up Armenian science industry”, says the EU4Business “Innovative tourism and technology development for Armenia (ITTD)” project’s advisor David Kartashyan during his speech.

The event was a true success attended by over 100 participants, who had a chance to learn about participation opportunities under HE, functionalities of the EURAXESS Armenia portal, and other funding opportunities within EU and local programmes.

Within the frames of the agreement together with CIVITTA and SIPAC foundation, EU4B ITTD project has selected 5 Horizon Europe applicants, who receive individual support from international experts. The selected applicants are:

  • Lilit Nersisyan (Armenian Bioinformatics Institute)
  • Mkrtich Yeranosyan (National Academy of Sciences)
  • Mushegh Rafayelyan (Yerevan State University)
